Privacy Policy
Last Updated: January 15, 2025
At megonadvanceon, we understand that creating meaningful celebrations requires trust. When you work with us on concept and script development, you're sharing ideas that matter to you. This policy explains how we handle that information with the respect it deserves.
We've written this in plain language because privacy policies shouldn't require a law degree to understand. If something's unclear, just ask us.
Information We Collect
Running a celebration planning business means we need certain information to do our work properly. Here's what we typically collect and why we need it.
Information You Give Us Directly
When you reach out about our services, you'll provide basic contact details. Most clients give us their name, email address, phone number, and the mailing address where they're located. If you're planning an event, we'll need details about the celebration itself – dates, venue preferences, the type of event you're organizing, and what you're hoping to achieve.
The creative part of our work means gathering your ideas, preferences, cultural considerations, and any specific requirements for your celebration. Sometimes clients share budget ranges to help us recommend appropriate options.
Information We Collect Automatically
When you visit our website, we collect standard technical information that most websites gather. This includes your IP address, browser type, device information, and basic data about how you interact with our site. We use this to improve the website experience and understand what content is actually useful to visitors.
A note about cookies: We use a small number of cookies to keep the website functioning properly and remember your preferences. You can disable cookies in your browser, though some features might not work as smoothly.
How We Use Your Information
We're pretty straightforward about this. The information you provide helps us deliver the service you're paying for.
- Developing celebration concepts and scripts tailored to your specific needs and cultural context
- Communicating with you about project progress, revisions, and deliverables
- Scheduling consultations and coordinating event planning activities
- Processing payments and maintaining accurate financial records as required by Taiwan tax regulations
- Sending you relevant updates about your project or responding to your inquiries
- Improving our services based on feedback and usage patterns
- Complying with legal obligations under Taiwan law, including record-keeping requirements
We don't sell your information to third parties. We're not in the data business – we're in the celebration planning business.
Data Storage and Security
Your information lives on secure servers with encryption during transmission. We use industry-standard security measures, including secure file storage systems, encrypted email communications, and password-protected client portals for sharing sensitive project materials.
Physical documents containing client information are stored in locked filing cabinets at our Tainan office. Only team members who need access to complete your project can view your information.
That said, no system is completely foolproof. We do our best to protect your data, but we can't guarantee absolute security. If we experience a data breach that affects your information, we'll notify you promptly as required by Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act.
Sharing Your Information
We keep your information within our team as much as possible. There are a few situations where we might share it with others.
| Who We Share With | Why We Share | What We Share |
|---|---|---|
| Venue Partners | Coordinating event logistics | Event details, contact information, timing requirements |
| Payment Processors | Handling financial transactions | Payment information, transaction amounts |
| Accounting Services | Tax compliance and bookkeeping | Invoice details, payment records |
| Cloud Storage Providers | Secure file storage and backup | Project files, communications, documentation |
| Legal Authorities | Compliance with legal obligations | Only what's legally required |
All third parties we work with are required to maintain confidentiality and use your information only for the specific purposes we've outlined.
Your Rights Under Taiwan Law
Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act gives you specific rights regarding your personal information. Here's what you can do and how to actually exercise these rights.
Access Your Data
You can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you. We'll provide this within 15 business days, usually in PDF format.
Correct Inaccuracies
If something we have on file is wrong, let us know and we'll update it promptly. This is especially important for contact details and event specifications.
Request Deletion
You can ask us to delete your information, though we may need to retain certain records for legal or tax purposes for up to seven years.
Restrict Processing
You can limit how we use your data in certain circumstances, such as while we're verifying accuracy of disputed information.
Object to Processing
You can object to certain uses of your information, particularly for marketing purposes. We'll honor these requests immediately.
Data Portability
You can request your data in a commonly used format to transfer to another service provider if you choose.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at contact@megonadvanceon.com with your specific request. We'll verify your identity and respond within the timeframes required by law.
Data Retention
We don't keep your information longer than necessary. Different types of data have different retention periods based on practical and legal requirements.
Active project information stays in our systems while we're working together and for one year after project completion. This allows us to address any follow-up questions or provide reference materials if you need them.
Financial records, including invoices and payment information, are retained for seven years as required by Taiwan tax regulations. After this period, we securely delete or destroy these records.
Marketing communications and general inquiries are typically deleted after three years unless you've specifically requested to remain on our contact list.
If you request deletion of your data before these timeframes, we'll accommodate your request except where legal obligations require us to maintain certain records.
International Data Transfers
Our business operates primarily in Taiwan, and most client data stays within Taiwan's borders. However, some of our service providers – particularly cloud storage and email services – may store data on servers located outside Taiwan.
When data is transferred internationally, we ensure these providers maintain adequate security standards and comply with applicable data protection regulations. We use providers that are certified under recognized international privacy frameworks.
If you have concerns about where your data is stored, contact us and we can provide specific details about our current service providers and their data center locations.
Children's Privacy
Our services are designed for adults planning celebrations. We don't knowingly collect information from individuals under 18 years of age. If you're a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we'll delete it immediately.
Changes to This Policy
We review and update this privacy policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. The "Last Updated" date at the top tells you when we last made changes.
If we make significant changes that affect how we handle your information, we'll notify you by email if we have your contact information. For minor updates or clarifications, we'll simply post the revised policy on our website.
We encourage you to review this policy occasionally, especially before starting a new project with us.
Taiwan-Specific Compliance
As a business operating in Taiwan, we comply with the Personal Data Protection Act and related regulations. This includes maintaining proper registration for data processing activities and implementing appropriate security measures.
You have the right to file a complaint with Taiwan's National Development Council if you believe we've mishandled your personal information. We'd prefer to resolve any concerns directly, but this option is available if needed.
Our data protection practices also consider cultural expectations around privacy in Taiwan, including heightened sensitivity around family information and event details that may be considered private matters.
